Ten artists were involved in this series of portraits. Rubino asked each of them their favourite colour, which he used as the backdrop, and a phrase or quote which represented them. During the sitting, Brian Eno’s Music for Airports accompanied them towards the alpha stage, inducing a state of relaxation that enabled them to travel as if in a dream. Their expressions are the result of the feelings aroused by the music. The project also saw the creation of a video. In this case, the backdrop was blue and the artists posed in front of the video camera for half an hour, always accompanied by the same music. During editing, approximately one minute for each subject was extracted. Using white fade-outs during the cross-cut editing, the images appear out of nowhere and fade into nothing. The final edit is on a loop, which means we can watch the video at any time seeing as there is no beginning or end. It is a circular movement closed in on itself. S.R.

Per questa serie di ritratti ha avuto la collaborazione di 10 artisti. Ha chiesto a ciascuno il colore preferito, che ha utilizzato come sfondo, e una frase, o citazione, che li rappresentasse. Durante la posa, una musica di Brian Eno, Music for airport, li accompagnava verso lo stadio alfa, inducendoli in uno stato di rilassamento tale da farli viaggiare come in un sogno. Le loro espressioni sono il risultato delle sensazioni provocate dalla musica. Il progetto prevedeva anche la realizzazione di un video. In questo caso lo sfondo era azzurro e posavano davanti alla videocamera per mezz’ora, sempre accompagnati dalla stessa musica. Nelle fase di montaggio è stato estratto circa un minuto per ciascun soggetto. In fase di montaggio usando delle dissolvenze incrociate in bianco, le immagini apparivano dal niente e scomparivano nel niente. Il montaggio finale in loop permette di vedere il video in qualsiasi momento, non essendoci nè inizio, nè fine. E’ un movimento circolare, chiuso in se stesso. S.R.
